A 12-hour lock-in with legendary performance artist Linda Mary Montano
Saturday, Nov. 17th: 8 pm until Sunday morning, Nov 18th.2012
WHERE: JACK

Clinton Hill, Brooklyn
C or G train to Clinton-Washington
Join groundbreaking art/life artist/lifeist Linda Mary Montano in a 12-hour lock-in at JACK, the new Clinton Hill arts space. Montano will select seven participants to serve as the “GLANDETTES” during a public performance based on the seven glands. After the performance, the group will stay the night together, with Montano leading the group in a workshop, and in eating and resting.
To apply, please e-mail your interest in enduring with 6 others for 12 hours so that we can all reconsider the boundaries between art and life together as an art family. One rehearsal at 6pm the night of the performance.
Applications are due October 15 and can be e-mailed to artlife@jackny.org.
More details about the lock-in will be revealed during application considerations.
Linda Mary Montano is a pioneer in performance art. Since the 1960’s, she has explored how artistic ritual, often staged as individual interactions or collaborative workshops, can be used to enhance a person’s daily life, to create the opportunity for attentional spiritual energy states, to encourage inner silence and to alter the cessation of art/life boundaries. 1. AS PEOPLE ENTER, WATER ANGELS TALKING, FROM YOU TUBE PLAYING

2. TRANSLATOR IS DRESSED ALL IN WHITE OR A LIGHT PINK COLOR, EVERYTHING, WEARS ANGEL WINGS I WILL BRING AND WALKS THROUGHOUT THE AUDIENCE

3. JOLA INTRODUCES ME: SAYS I DIDNT COME BUT I SENT BOB DYLAN.....THEN NEW YOU TUBE: BOB DYLAN SINGING : FOREVER YOUNG FROM YOU TUBE, I ENTER AND LIP SYNCH TO BOB DYLAN, ANGEL EMBRACES ME

4. THEN I CHANGE COSTUME ON STAGE, (WIG) AND MUSIC FROM MY CD: JACKIE GLEASON........I SAY A FEW WORDS, WE DANCE

A 7 HOUR WORKSHOP IN LAZNIA FOR ELDERS

A Seven Hour Workshop with Linda Mary Montano at Laznia CCA

20.11.2013, at 13:00 - 20:00

This seven hour workshop with Linda Mary Montano is for older people and is designed to bring awareness to conscious aging. It is also for people who are interested in the topic of aging, sickness and suffering.

If you think that life is art, then this workshop is dedicated to you.

If you think that you can make your life better by being more creative, then this workshop is for you.

If you think that you would like to have a face to face meeting with someone who likes art and feels that art can bring great joy to daily life, then this workshop is for you.

You will come to Laznia CCA and have a private meeting with Linda who will talk 10- 30 minutes individually with each participant about life, experiences of aging, sickness, faith, families, relations, art and memory. We will use laughter techniques as well as intuitive ways to connect and relate our human condition and be together in that relationship for a short time. The computer, life, responsibilities, problems have taken our time away, have taken our peace away, have taken our face away from each other. This experience will be an opportunity for a few minutes of clear PEACE.

During the workshop a translator will be present.

Montano is know for her long durational art and feels that spending time doing one action, brings focus, awareness and relief from multi-tasking.

LOOKING FOR PUBLISHER FOR 14 YEARS OF LIVING ART

DEAR  COLLEAGUES:

Am  asking around if u know anyone who would like to

1. re-copy text for a book on 14 years of living art

2. it would have an article by

MOIRA ROTH
JENNIFER FISHER
ARLENE RAVEN
CAROLYN EYLER

(all have already written articles on this performance)

3.THE person who organizes the book  would:

A.Write an introduction/article/essay comments on this work. And interview me about  14 YEARS OF LIVING ART& 21 YEARS OF LIVING ART. Interview would be  included in the book also.

B. Retype all text for the book and edit with me as to clarity and need.....

C Go to NYU  and look at my archve (Box titled  & YEARS OF LIVING ART) for things they might want to add

D. Come to Saugerties ny and scan images, possibly include a dvd of CHAKRA  TAPES

E. Interview a few people about 21 YEARS OF LIVING ART

F.Research and find all the places that will publish the book.

This is  a project for someone with a burning love for art/life. Plus, someone with a grant/publisher/independence/ability to travel, passion for research and curiosity.  etc
