THE BEAR GIRL

THE BTHEEAR GIRL, by Linda Mary Montano

THE BEAR GIRL  by LINDA MARY MONTANO

Once upon a time, many many, many eons ago, in a cold and warm and beautiful and lovely and hidden and mysterious and cool/awesome sweet smelling land, there lived a Bear Girl.

You are wondering no doubt why she is called Bear Girl?  Well here is why. It is  because she had been out playing one day and a bear mother came by and said, "Come and talk with me, I'm lonely and need some company." So the  girl went over to the cave and sat with this huge, warm vibrating sonically hairy Ma and they talked and talked and talked for hours. Sometimes they just sat there, listening to each others breathing. Bear Girl made hers loud sometimes for Ma's sake. Often, to know when to leave, she would look at the sun and say, "Goodbye Honey MA, I will be back soon . I have some lessons to do now and I cant be late."

After that first night and  4998 nights later, little Bear Girl slept with honey dreams and warm coats and fur on her mind and each morning, after her dreams, you know where she went....directly to the cave for more Honey Talk with Honey Ma.

"Honey Ma, I love you so much and I love hugging you and your furriness and your breath is soooooooooooo sweet. (from all of that honey perchance?)But winter is coming and I am feeling sad that I wont see you for awhile because in one of my textbooks I read that you sleep for a long, long time. What shall I do, what shall I do without our visits? Give me just one more day with you? Please ?"

That night Bear Girl sat at the edge of her bed in the attic, and wrote out about 9487 questions for Honey Ma, the last one being, "I need your secret Ma because you are in your cave dreaming of food in the spring when you will eat again, and I am out here dreaming of  life-food, real-food. Help me, please." Bear Girl referenced food because of her own personal reasons, not to be mentioned here.

A tear of deep feeling dropped into Honey Ma's face hair from her big brown eyes and then she took Bear Girl's  tiny hand in her furry paws, kissed both of her palms and promised  the sun and moon and stars and dreams and cures and healings and the FOOD OF LOVE to her new friend. " I want to also give you the gift of a new name, OK?"  Bear Girl was tearing up also and she shook her head yes because she was too emotional to talk.  "GOOD you agree!! Ta Dha,"  the biggest Mother in the forest sang out ceremonially and announced, for all the trees to hear, "From now on you will be called, Honey Bear Girl. You are in my protection and  care and sleeping memory and dreams and all winter long, I  will send you smiles and easy-fun food. " "Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy said Honey Bear Girl. See you soon, spring is almost here!!"

And that is just the beginning of the story of Honey Bear Girl and Honey Ma. The dream has just begun.
